Nut-shell version: My name is Emily; my husband is Jim. In the summer of 2012, we completed the Camino de Santiago via the Camino Frances, walking from St. Jean Pied de Port in northwestern France to Santiago de Compostela in northwestern Spain. It was a powerful journey that changed us, building us up and stripping us down in ways we couldn’t have anticipated. It also saved our troubled marriage.

God willing, we will undertake the Camino for a second time in 2015.

This site is an account of past adventures and lessons learned, as well as preparations for our upcoming walk.

  1. Congratulations on doing the Camino, doing it together and saving your marriage. We (David and Le) will be undertaking the Camino in September this year, both for personal soul searching purposes, a physical challenge and partly for charity. We are nervous and excited about walking so far! Glad to have found your blog!

    • Hello and welcome! I’m so glad to make your acquaintance! I will be interested in hearing how the Camino is in September, as that’s the time we plan to return, in 2015. Everything I’ve read sounds as if it’s a good time of year to go. Buen camino to you both!

  2. Hello Emily! It was great to find your blog today! My husband and I are planning our Camino on the Way of St. James for 2016 (God willing! Fingers Crossed!) It’s really fun to find a blog about a married couple who have walked (and will walk again). Jeff and I will look forward to following your blog. Cheers – Holly

    • Hello Holly and Jeff, and welcome! Happy you found the blog, and am always excited to meet prospective pilgrims. Best of luck to you both on your walk!
